Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp speaks on the availability of their star players, James Milner and Joe Gomez against Chelsea. He made it clear that they are all set to face the blues in the fifth round of the FA cup.
Just two days after their stunning defeat by 3-0 against Watford at Vicarage Road, the “reds” travel to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday. The Premier League leaders face their first loss of this season on Saturday.
On being asked about Joe and James, Klopp denied the presence of any fresh injury and confirmed that except them, the other three players namely Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, and Xherdan Shaqiri will miss out.
While Gomez missed the match at Vicarage Road due to a little fitness issue, Milner was out due to a muscle strain.
Dejan Lovren, the Croatian footballer who was there as a replacement for Joe Gomez admitted that their club felt ashamed after their first loss against Watford. Although he was highly criticized by the fans for his poor performance, Klopp believes that it is not fair to blame him as it was a difficult task to contain Watford as a full back.
The 52 years old manager explained that as he is a paid manager of the Premier League club, he must have more knowledge of football than other persons. He further mentioned that it was very difficult for Dejan to face Troy Deeney and any other center half of the world would have struggled too.
Despite their defeat against Watford, Liverpool is currently on the top of League with 22 points.
With many reports claiming this season to end early due to coronavirus, Klopp finds it difficult to digest this fact.
According to him, these are only good headlines for newspapers and Liverpool fans are not so silly to believe this rumor.
