Hansen schouldn’t be called an expert! Germany: 2002 very well, 2006 average? In fact it’s vice versa. Also Shearer and Dixon should know it better. They played against Germany. And then Shearer said before the World Cup: “Only 2-3 Germans would make the English squad.” I don’t understand it. Sure, you have to cheer for your team, but the comments are way beyond reality!
@feuerwassergeist So China and India should be the best football countries….what a logic is that? 😀
We were average in 2002 not 2006 Mr.Hansen muppet. Th problem with english football is that english players are totally overrated. They play with the best foreign players together but then you see them playing like crap against Algeria or USA… And english players have the biggest salary and average strikers like carroll 35 million. rofl
I dont know who this hansen is but he is stupid like a bread.
germany 2006 average?? The most exciting and best games were with germany who dont trust me watch the higlights of every german wc 2006.
We beated Argentina the biggest favorite of this tournament and lost against the later worldcupwinner italy in the last minute of the addition time. But Italy had a simple game vs Ukraine in the quarter and we against argentina who were the best team till the quarter.
i`m not a football fan … but in my opinion it is not fair … England is only a small country and have only a small population … it is only logic that germany wins.
Boxing is better.
Ha,it’s comical how arrogant English pundits are,totally brainwashed.Especially Hansen,and he is Scottish! Maybe they got a wake up call now!
germanys back four looked very naive but then improved
thank god, some1 went to the trouble of finding the analysis
In your face Alan Hansen!
The problem is just that they have been considered “average” for quite some time now and they have been “surprising” the world for an even longer time.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, …
nah every1 thought the germans were going to be average EVEN GERMANS B4 THE WORLD CUP said there team were weak, they were a surprise
What a bunch of silly english idiots (except GaryL.) arrogant and without knowledge
How many black players in the german team ? how many black players in the english team ? GO FIGURE !!
Of course these analysts are going to say that England has great players and Germany has average players… Yeah, half of the players on the German roster in 2010 also played in 2006 and made it to the SEMI-FINAL… How far did England get?
Germany has the most determination and consistency IN THE WORLD when it comes to international championships. England? They have a bunch of over-payed premier league “Stars”.
GERMAN PRIDE
thanks alot for the vid!

I can see where you are coming from when it comes to friendlies, but these matches don’t really have that much value, since they’re often used to test new players and have no competitive character.
Qualifiers are another matter though and here, the German team came out of their campaign unbeaten. They even became the first team ever to beat the Russians in Moscow during it. Actually, their ability to always qualify for big tournaments is quite legendary.
@Nickelbella
I think it’s because of the poor perfomances of the Germans in friendlies and qualifiers. The Germans don’t like these matches during the week. They need a long preparation to get into shape, which is why they look best at tournaments but quite bad in the two years between the tournaments. Hint for the future: If you see an average German team in a friendly two months ahead of a tournament, you can expect aa world class-team at the tournament.
This pure gold!
i was in England this day, the attitude from the BBC muppets, sums up these pundits, couldnt believe the rubbish i heard before kick off >__>
@resilienceman
11 Semi-finals out of the last 15 World Cups!
And 7 finals!
3 wins.
4 second place finishes.
3 third place finishes.
🙂
I remember when Germany played Uruguay. If Uruguay (a really fabulous team that scored some gorgeous goals – including the goal of the tournament in that game – Forlan’s) had won, it would have been their best result in 60 years. If Germany won, it would be their best result since the last time around!
They are a big-tournament team, without a doubt.
🙂
@BMeneau Well said!!!! may they never realise Germany are better, their arrogance is their downfall.
I remember watching this and thinking ‘WHAT THE FUCK IS ALAN HANSEN TALKIN ABOUT’!!!!???? ‘england have the better players, england have more big match experience’ BULLSHIT. Many of the Germany players in the squad may be young but have played in a few World Cup Semi-Finals, Klose has been in a World cup Final. The Germans have far more big match experience and are by far, i can not stress it enough, the better players. the england have only been to quarter finals and get fucked always.
@BMeneau The England players are overrated when they don’t play well they say it just wasn’t our day or Rooney , Gerrard, wasn’t 100% fit whereas they really are overrated i honestly think if Scholes went this World Cup the outcome would be the same, I think why we don’t play well is the Germans have great two footed players where ours consist of only one footed players except for our foreigners it’s all about technique really tbh we’ve never really learnt to control the game either.
I wouldn’t say that German press is usually relentlessly pessimistic. They’re rather measured (except for the BILD-Zeitung), that’s all. Before this particular match, many newspapers figured the chances of winning for our team would be around 50 percent.
It’s really the English press that keeps knocking the German teams, insisting that their players do not have the same skill as the English have. I always considered that to be counterproductive wishful thinking.
@Nickelbella
Germany never considers itself a favourite – that may have a lot to do with it. The German press is always relentlessly pessimistic, for example.
England is the opposite. The press always hype the team and are always convinced they’ll win.
